A visual diary built from light, family, running, and faith. The first floor reframes the director's lens inward, revealing how daily moments shape artistic language.
The invisible stories behind every spotlight.
"Backstage is a WORLD" is the first solo exhibition in which director and visual creator Chang Cheng Chieh opens his 20-year backstage archive. His images document the unseen hands behind concerts, performances, and live productions, while also tracing his own life, family, and faith.
The exhibition unfolds across two floors. 4F "Inside Time" presents nine intimate visual chapters. 5F "The Hands You Never See" turns to production crews and collaborators whose work makes every stage moment possible.
Every moment you remember on stage stands on work you rarely see behind it.
— Exhibition StatementA visual diary built from light, family, running, and faith. The first floor reframes the director's lens inward, revealing how daily moments shape artistic language.
Sound engineers, camera operators, lighting crews, stage managers, and production teams become the protagonists. This floor is a tribute to invisible labor in the live-event ecosystem.
Chang Cheng Chieh is a director, photographer, and narrative strategy creator. His work spans live concerts, performance productions, brand films, short films, and cross-disciplinary visual projects.
He has worked in faith-based and cultural production environments for over 20 years, documenting people whose roles are essential but rarely visible in public-facing media.
We turn invisible value into unforgettable stories.

"Backstage is a WORLD" is a photography exhibition by director and visual creator Chang Cheng Chieh. Built from 20 years of backstage documentation, it honors the people who make performances possible but rarely appear in front of the camera. The exhibition spans two floors at Far Eastern SOGO Dunhua: 4F "Inside Time" focuses on personal visual chapters, while 5F "The Hands You Never See" highlights the backstage world behind concerts and live events.
Curated by Chang Cheng Chieh, "Backstage is a WORLD" presents a two-decade visual archive from concert and live-event production environments. The exhibition takes place on 4F and 5F of Far Eastern SOGO Dunhua in Taipei. On 4F, "Inside Time" unfolds through nine narrative scenes focused on light, family, self, faith, and time. On 5F, "The Hands You Never See" turns attention to backstage professionals whose craft sustains every front-stage moment.
The project also includes a collaborative area developed with Holywood, inviting visitors to reflect on their own invisible contributions. Rather than nostalgia, this exhibition proposes an ethics of seeing: to recognize labor, care, and presence behind the visible performance.
